Angelica and Drew~Engagements
July 19, 2010Apparently when the weatherman has any idea I am heading over to Cumberland Falls he changes the forecast to RAIN! On the day I was scheduled to meet Angelica and Drew … there was no exception! It rained and rained, but we were determined and continued with our plans regardless! I just had a feeling it would stop .. and it did! True to KY summer weather it was humid though, but we were so glad it stopped raining that we didn’t mind at all! Drew and Angelica took it in stride and were gorgeous in front of the camera! I on the other hand was a mess, but that wasn’t important! =]
Angelica and Drew are such a sweet couple and have dated for over 6 years! I gave Drew a hard time about waiting so long to propose, but he would just grin and go on! =] I am pretty sure it has been worth their wait because they are so excited about their wedding day and they love they share kept me smiling all evening! Their fall wedding is anticipated very much!
Meet Angelica and Drew:
My favorite: <3
I loved this sequence! They were a little ‘concerned’ I think when I told them to walk across the bridge … but I quickly added that I would watch for cars behind them if they would watch out for me! Neither the couple or photographer were not harmed in the process! =]
I am so happy for the two you and I cannot wait until your beautiful wedding day! ~Kellie
The Wedding Day of Amanda and Bill
July 11, 2010After watching the forecast the week prior to this day, the weatherman was not very optimistic. On Saturday morning, I woke up to an 80% chance of Rain…. and this was a wedding planned to be outdoors! On my way to the venue it rained and rained and rained some more…. I felt heartbroken for Amanda and Bill and all of the hard work they had put into planning this day, but wouldn’t you know the sun came out and it stayed out all day! It did bring very HOT temps though.
EXTREMELY HOT! Everyone was great! Despite the extreme temps no one complained and this wedding party was so agreeable! We were all just so thankful for the sunny skies that we just tried not to pay attention to it!
Amanda was running a little late ….. something to do with a wrong turn in Louisville I believe, but I rounded up the boys and got this wedding day started!
I caught up with the guys finishing up getting ready!
The Wedding and Reception venue was held on a beautiful farm in Shelbyville!
The handsome groom that was ready to get married!
Amanda finally arrived and she looked as beautiful as ever!
This sweet moment with her mom was just precious when she turned around with her dress on.
Bill and Amanda chose to do a first glance….. love it! It was very emotional!
So Happy and so Relaxed!
Amanda was a bride that simply glowed with happiness!
Her bridesmaids were so sweet and attentive to Amanda! They had such a fun day together!
The full wedding party!
It was finally ceremony time! Amanda and Bill’s Mothers gave their own marriage blessings to their children. It was such a special moment and there was hardly a dry eye anywhere. They each were so different, but so heartfelt!
One of the details Bill and Amanda incoporated into their ceremony was the wedding box. I have personally never seen this as part of a ceremony, but I loved it. Inside they chose to put a love letter to each other and a copy of their wedding vows. This box will be locked and placed in a prominent place in their home where it will be seen daily. They were reminded that in times of difficulty in their road ahead they were to stop and open this box together and remember the love they shared on this day. The preacher also stated that he hoped there was never a reason to open it and if that held true they were to open it on the date of the birth of their first grandchild to remind themselves of how their love had grown and matured.
Congratulations To the New Mr. and Mrs!
Since all of our photos were complete the happy couple went straight into their reception!
We had a great time with the sparkler and firework exit! It was such a fun end to a beautiful day!
Thank you for including me in your wedding day! May your new life together always be filled with the love you shared this day!
Best Wishes and Happiness Always!

Baby Cailyn
July 5, 2010It is no secret that I love newborns …. love, love, love them!
Baby Cailyn was a tiny three weeks old when she came to visit me. She had the smoothest skin and the most beautiful hair! Her sweet Mom had made the appointment and when they arrived her Daddy and I were surprised to make the connection that we have known each other for many years!
Once a newborn gets settled in to a deep sleep, I could photograph them all day! Sometimes I think Mom and Dad get worried that I might just try to keep them, but now worries ….. I will bring them back at bedtime! =]
After each newborn session I generally announce I have a ‘new’ favorite image …….. this one is no exception! I could hang an enlargement of this sleeping beauty right over my own fireplace!! Sigh ……
Such sweet dreams!
Eeeek … I love baby feet!
Thank you Anita and Seth for allowing me to capture this sweet moment in time for you! Cailyn is a precious doll and I hope you enjoy these images for many years to come! ~Kellie
Cori and Preston
July 5, 2010I met Cori and Preston for the first time on New Year’s Day! They were such a sweet couple and I got very excited about their description of their outdoor wedding ceremony they were planning mid-May at Cumberland Falls State Park! Before we turned around it seemed, their wedding day had arrived!
Although Sarah Burton and I have known each other for quite some time, this was my first opportunity to work with her at wedding! She did a beautiful job planning and coordinating Cori and Preston’s wedding day!
What started out as a gorgeous hot, humid and sunny day quickly turned into something that wasn’t at all what we had planned, but as the old saying goes, ‘If Life gives you lemons …. let’s make lemonade!’ That is exactly what this team of wedding vendors did to despite rain that none of us wanted to see!
To get the day started ……….I loved the details of Cori’s dress and bouquet!
The anticipation while getting ready is one of my favorite things to photograph on a wedding day! It was also a great honor this day to have my friend, Tim second shoot with me as well! He covered the guys getting ready while I stayed close by with Cori!
One of those memories between Mother and Daughter one will never forget …..
We were able to get a few photos in at the outdoor wedding ceremony site, before the clouds opened up!
And then it started to rain …… and it rained a little harder …. and then even a little bit more .. and more and more … you get the point! =]
A loud clap of thunder forced us all inside very quickly and the decision was made to move the wedding indoors.
Despite the disappointment after months of planning everyone pulled together and made it happen!
Even though it wasn’t outdoors, the bride and groom were the same, the guests were the same, the ceremony was the same … it was a beautiful wedding!
After the ceremony, we had planned for the new Mr.and Mrs. to go down to the falls with me for photos, but wouldn’t you know it was raining even more!!
We started with few photos indoors ….
And then we moved to the front porch of the hotel!
I always say that location isn’t as important to me as my subjects and this day proved to be very true!
This happens to be one of my favorite weddings photos ever …….
Preston absolutely adores Cori and this photo to me just captured that in such a deep and caring way!
After we finished up with formal photos were off to the reception! Sarah and her team did an amazing job with the decorations! I just happen to love orange and yellow and together they were so adorable!
It is now official .. the marriage license signed and cake to the face! =]
Congratulations to the two of you and I wish you many years of happiness and blessings! Thank you for sharing your day with me and I look forward to keeping in touch! ~Kellie
