Last fall I had the opportunity to photograph an event that Forcht Bank hosted in Lexington.
John Calipari was the guest speaker and each individual that was invited to attend had the opportunity to get an autographed copy of his book and a photo with the coach by yours truly!
In Kentucky, if you haven’t heard of Coach Cal …… well, where you have been??? =]
At this time he was the most anticipated Kentucky Basketball Coach ready to start his first season at the University of KY.
It was an amazing day that I will never forget!
Fast forward a few weeks later, I received a call from Mr. Woodruff. He was in attendance at this event and remembered my name as a photographer when his only daughter got engaged to be married! He was so sweet telling me about Ashley and Chase and you could hear the pride in his voice.
My information was passed on to the mother of the Bride and the Bride-to-be and the rest as they say is history ……I am so honored to be their wedding photographer in October!
Everything about this wedding has been UK centered to this date! If I remember correctly the day Ashley and Chase and I met for the first time, Chase came along too even though he was missing a UK football game!
This is a committed Groom -to-Be … and he didn’t even complain! =]
After throwing around some locations for their engagement session, Ashley and Chase wanted to stop at Rupp Arena to have a few photos made out front and in the lobby!
When we arrived downtown traffic was crazy with the buzz of the Sweet 16 going on and I thought to myself that this was never going to work! Before I knew it, Ashley was talking to a security guard and our vehicles were being directed to park in the Valet lot… no problem at all! Chase and I were amazed she was able to maneuver this task, but Ashley simply responded, ‘It doesn’t hurt to ask!’ =]
Little did we know what would happen next ……………………
Yes ….. we were standing center court of Rupp Arena!
I have been to Rupp many times, but never quiet like this!
We were all a little giddy!
The KHSAA Sweet 16 was in progress this weekend and they were in between games. When we requested to go through security to take photos in the lobby a very nice lady asked if we would like to go down to center court for photos instead. We first thought she was just teasing us, but it was not a joke at all!
There really are not a lot of words out there that could easily describe how awesome this was!!!
Even though we could have gone home Happy after this ………Our next stop was Kenneland.
There were so many photos from this session that I loved. Ashley and Chase were so sweet and in love! I cannot wait until their wedding!
I had just returned from Las Vegas where I did a photo shoot in the desert that was an unbelievable opportunity!
But I couldn’t help but stand on this beautiful Kentucky Horse Farm photographing this adorable couple and not realize that there was no place in the world as beautiful as ‘home’!
This is probably my very favorite ………
Or maybe this one ….
I am so excited for Ashley and Chase and I look forward to seeing their beautiful wedding unfold as they make plans to begin their new life together!
