{Travis and Samantha} Wedding Day

February 12, 2011

The Wedding Day of Travis and Samantha was long anticipated and when the day finally arrived I was so excited!!

Travis’ parents and my husband’s parents have been best friends for many years and being invited to capture their son’s wedding day was truly an honor!!

I am still playing blog catch-up because this was a beautiful fall October Day!!

Blue skies!!  Not even a cloud in sight!!

This is Samantha, the Bride!!  She looked stunning!!!

Travis and Sam opted for a first look to start their day and it was nothing short of spectacular!

I always get a little choked up when I see the Bride approaching her Groom for the first time that day!

This gave us more time to explore around the beautiful grounds of Talon of Winery for lots of photos before the ceremony!

Right before the ceremony started, I was able to take a sneak peak myself of the fabulous reception that was waiting!!!

The ceremony was incredibly sweet and personal!!  I love how each couple makes it their own!

We also had a uninvited guest to the ceremony too!  Mr. Ultralight!  He kept buzzing the ceremony to see what he was missing!!  =]

Bubbles …… <3

By the end of the ceremony the sun was still a little harsh, but was finally starting to soften so we took the opportunity to take a few more photos while their guests moved to the reception site!

Loved this sequence down by the pond at Talon!!

And finally, it was time for the party!

Congratulations to Travis and Sam!

I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!!  ~Kellie

{Angelica and Drew} Wedding Day

January 28, 2011

From my first meeting with Angelica and Drew, I could not wait for their wedding day!!

When I arrived the details and COLORS Angelica had coordinated made my head spin a little!  =]  They were gorgeous and so fitting for a beautiful fall wedding!!

The Stunning Bride and Handsome Groom:

As many couples do, Angelica and Drew chose to do a ‘First Glance’ meeting!  Love, Love, Loved it.   <3

Since the weather was absolutely perfect we headed outside to do portraits!

The Bridal Party did not disappoint either!  They were so much fun to work with!!

Are you just loving these colors too?!!!  <3

After the ceremony we headed over to the Big South Fork Scenic Railway for a few more portraits and then we were off to the Reception!

After the toasts were made, cake was cut, bouquet and garter tossed it was time to have fun and these guests enjoyed every minute of celebrating with the new Mr. and Mrs.

Congratulations Angelica and Drew!

I know you will have a lifetime of happiness together and I look forward to seeing your family grow!!

{Megan and Jeremy} Wedding Day

January 28, 2011

The first time I visited Megan and Jeremy’s farm I got caught in a horrible thunderstorm! When their wedding day rolled around in September, I was so excited when I saw a perfect weather forecast!  No Rain!

Their wedding venue was on their Farm that have bought together.  It symbolized their new beginning and the life they would build!

When I arrived there was a very busy hustle and bustle amongst friends and family to get everything ready!

Megan was still in the ‘pre’ stages of getting ready so I just joined in and helped finish making wedding favors!  =]

At last, the Bride was ready to slow down and get pampered herself!

The wedding ran a little late which pushed us way past sunset, but their portraits overlooking their farm turned out beautiful!

Finally, it was time for the reception!

Best Wishes to Megan and Jeremy and their new beginnings!~Kellie

{Alison and Chris} Wedding Day

December 22, 2010

The Wedding Day of Alison and Chris started out as a gorgeous fall day!

I met up with Alison and her wedding party at the hair salon and our day of fun began!

Alison was the most relaxed and easy going bride!

The threat of ominous weather for the wedding she had planned outdoors did not seem to phase her!

blog1

Hello Me!

It is quiet the challenge to not actually be in the photos when you are surrounded by mirrors!

Eventually I just embraced it!  =]

The floral arrangements Alison picked out were stunning!!

blog3

On my way from the Salon to Acres of Land Winery in Richmond, KY  the wind blew, the clouds rolled in, the thunder roared and the lightening lit up the sky.

And it Rained and it Rained and it Rained!

I pulled of the interstate and I called my Dad who is an avid weather watcher!  =]

He told me it would pass!  I really wanted to believe him, but I surely had my doubts!

Sure enough my outdoor wedding rainy day blues turned into blue skies!!

These photos were taken within about an hour of each other with my iPhone!

blog19

When I finally made it to the Winery the Groom was standing outdoors waiting on me so we quickly got to work! =]

blog4

These groomsmen were some of the best!

blog5

They all had a good sense of humor too!

Did anyone say it was a day for the Ducks?!!!

And a good friend will always try to help you keep your shoes dry on your wedding day!!  =]

The beautiful bride, Alison!

Her gorgeous bridal party!

blog8

Ahhh .. the flower girl and ring bearer!

My heart literally fell into a puddle of mush when I turned around and saw this scene unfold!

blog9

I would have expected a rain delay, but not a ‘I am sorry the extension cord isn’t long enough sort of delay’!  =]

These handy men, didn’t take long to spring into action and save the day!

blog10

The winery gave such a storybook backdrop!

blog11

As soon as ‘I Do’ was said and it was sealed with Kiss the sun came out!

Not just a little sun, but beautiful ‘please take my photo in this sun’ appeared!

Inside the reception was festive and bright!!

Grown men were ohhhing and awwwwing over Chris’ awesome groom’s cake!!!

{Kelly and Chris} Wedding Day

December 20, 2010

I was so excited for the wedding day of Kelly and Chris to arrive and a little anxious as well!

Until I walked into the beautiful Church in downtown Nicholasville, KY on labor day weekend I had never meet the bride or the groom.

This is unusual because I normally like to get to know my couples during their engagement session or over a cup of coffee before their wedding day.

My worries were quickly dissolved when I met the Bride carrying her wedding dress in the parking lot of the Church and I was welcomed like part of the family!

Before I met Chris I knew I would like him too … especially after I saw the huge bouquet of flowers and sweet note he had left for Kelly in the room she would be getting ready in!

blog1

Kelly’s Dad took over to help these guys get ready on time!

blog2

There was so much happiness surrounding Kelly by her Mom and Best Friend, Katie!

blog3

I have no idea what was so funny right before they walked down the aisle, but I could not help by giggle too!

Once the giggles were over my heart sighed over this father lost in his thoughts.

blog4

I have never hidden the fact that I love when couples decide to do a first glance!

This day was an exception ………  and I have no words for the look on Kelly’s face when she rounded the corner to walk down the aisle with her Dad …..

blog5

and when I turned around to see Chris’s expression… I got a little choked up!

blog6

Such a sweet moment stolen between this couple during the ceremony!

blog7

blog8

This is always my favorite moment of any wedding day …………….

blog9

Kelly was a stunning Bride!

Did I mention her name was Kelly???  =]

It was funny to share a first name with a bride because I kept thinking I was so popular because EVERYONE knew my name!

blog10

I believe every daughter should a portrait like this with their Dad ……

blog11

We cannot forget the Groom!  He was looking especially handsome too!

blog12

This wedding party was so much fun and kept me on  my toes!  =]

blog13

blog14

blog15

blog16

The reception was held in the back yard of Kelly’s parents!

The large white tent made such an intimate setting for their family and close friends!

blog17

blog18

blog19

The date for this wedding was chosen around Kelly’s brother being deployed overseas.  In a quick turn of events, he had to leave sooner than expected and his absence was greatly felt by everyone.

They put together a little ‘Hello’ to let him know how much he was missed on this special day!

blog20

I felt certain the minute I took these photos they would be some of my all time favorites!!

This light was so delicious!!

Congratulations to Kelly and Chris

{Michael & Jackie}

December 9, 2010

Hard to imagine it is the beginning of December and I am sitting in my office (with my coat on) freezing, but yet I am just getting around to blog an August wedding!

Seriously?

After an amazing wedding season that kept me shooting weekend after weekend through the fall, I fell behind with my blogging.

But have no fear, I have a mission to share with you, my blog readers, all of the beautiful weddings that I have been blessed to be apart of over the last few months!

First up is the wedding of Michael and Jackie in Lexington, KY!

The first time I met Jackie it was snowing and bitter cold, but when her August wedding rolled around it was steamy hot even for Kentucky!

To  start off the day I arrived at the home of Jackie’s parents and I was greeted like part of the family!  I love when Bride’s get ready at home!  They always seem so comfortable and more relaxed!  I adored the shots of Jackie and her Mom finishing up on her final touches before Michael arrived!

chenblog1

It was easy to tell when the boys arrived!  I looked out the front door and saw this scene unfold!

chenblog2

Michael and Jackie chose to do a First Glance, but they added a twist to reflect an old Taiwanese Tradition that forced Michael to answer trivia questions from the bridesmaids and locate the Bride’s ‘hidden’ shoes!

It didn’t take long to realize this was going to be a fun and interesting day!  =]

chenblog3

Finally it was time to leave …..

chenblog4

Jackie arranged for their bridal party to go to the UK Arboretum for photos before going to the Church!  Did I say how much I loved that this Bride made sure we had plenty of time to do portraits!??

Speaking of the beautiful Bride:

chenblog5

This was truly one of the most attentive bridal parties I have ever worked with!  Each and everyone of them went out of their way to make Michael and Jackie’s day comfortable and memorable!

The guys wanted to jump and did they ever!  =]

chenblog6

We had not been at the Arboretum long and large ominous clouds started to appear, but the spirits of these friends were not hindered!

chenblog7

I loved this:

chenblog8

Even the Ring Bearer and Flower Girl were amazingly patient and of course CUTE!

chenblog9

Sigh ……….

chenblog10

chenblog11

Back at the Church, everyone had time to freshen up from the hot temps and just chill out before the ceremony!

I loved this series of Jackie finishing some notes and the special moment with her Mom!

chenblog12

The ceremony was beautiful too …….

chenblog13

There is so much emotional build up to this moment one the bride and groom reach the back of the Church!  Sometimes you have kisses, Sometimes tears of happiness, but Michael  and Jackie … they were the High 5 kind of joyously married!  Loved it!

chenblog14

The reception was initially planned to be outdoors at the Church, but for some reason it was moved indoors earlier in the week.  It was such a blessing because when the rain started it rained and it rained!!

chenblog15

To Michael and Jackie ~Thank you for Sharing your beautiful wedding day with me!  I wish you all the joy and happiness in your marriage that your life together will bring! ~Kellie
